Remarks
» I'm not sure regarding the species Eastern Violet-backed Sunbird (Anthreptes orientalis) / jm.
I have absolutely no problem with this bird as an Eastern Violet-backed Sunbird as that is what it looks like. As you say - leg & eye colour rule out the crombec. Besides it doesn't even look like a crombec. Admittedly it shows a weak supercilium for Eastern Violet-backed Sunbird but as the underparts are washed yellowish I would suggest that it might be an immature? / nb
It's really hard to tell what's going on in this photo. Looks like the bird has no tail. The bill looks vaguely right for EVB Sunbird, but the plumage not. Jizz doesn't look quite right either, but that is hard to tell / mm.
After some discussion in a danish webside, will I alter the name to Somali Long-billed Crombec (Sylvietta isabellina). There might be some problems with the colour of the legs / jm
